A Glance at the New 2023 Jeep Wrangler

November 1st, 2022 by

The Jeep has evolved over the years from its beginnings as a do-anything type military vehicle. That evolution continues with the Wrangler, which brings the off-road spirit to the SUV market. The modern Wrangler maintains that rugged feel of an off-road adventure waiting to happen and brings it into the mainstream of automotive culture. The 2023 models are here at Sunland Park CDJR, and you can call us anytime to plan a test drive. The Wrangler starts with two body styles, a two-door, and a four-door called “unlimited.” That means your options are almost unlimited with this vehicle. There are 12 trims to choose from, six engines, and you can get a manual or automatic transmission. There’s even an electric version in the lineup this year. The base trim, the sport, will handle a lot of your off-road needs. At the top of the line is the Rubicon, which has a lot of special off-roading equipment that will take you places you could not have imagined taking a vehicle. All Jeeps come with 12.9-inch ground clearance, and when you add big tires to the Rubicon, it will ford up to 33 inches of water. We have the vehicle you want when you are ready for some real outdoor adventure.

Experience the ruggedness

The Jeep, and specifically the Wrangler, have a well-earned reputation for being off-road monsters. All jeeps have either part-time or full-time four-wheel drive, and that helps in any offload adventure.  The 12.9-inch ground clearance is the best you can get in an SUV.  As you go up in trim levels, the offload abilities get even better, and the amenities get better as well.   It all starts with the power plant. The basic package has a V6, and it can get to 60 in a respectable 6.1 seconds. The Sahara can do that in 6.6. Even the Rubicon, fully loaded with all the off-road features you could want, can get to 60 in 7.6 seconds.  While all Wranglers are impressive off the road, the two versions of the Rubicon take it to an even higher level. They both have specialized off-road equipment and front cameras which help in some offload situations. The Rubicon 392 has a 6.4 liter Hemi that adds some amazing power to the already great offload capability. You may also take off the roof, lower the windshield, and take off the doors for the ultimate outdoor experience.

Wrangler engines

  • 3.6-liter V6 (287 horsepower, 260 foot-pounds of torque)
  • Turbocharged 2.0 liter 4 cylinders (270 horsepower, 295 foot-pounds of torque)
  • Turbocharged 3.0-liter diesel V6. (260 horsepower, 442 foot-pounds of torque)
  • 6.4-liter V8 (470 horsepower, 470 foot-pounds of  torque
  • Plug-in hybrid. (375 horsepower, 470 foot-pounds of torque)
  • 4Xe adds a 17.0 KWH battery to the turbocharged four-cylinder.

Features

The Wrangler is also an SUV, in addition to being a rugged Jeep. While offroad ruggedness is its pedigree, it still has a lot of modern technology that makes you safer and more comfortable. There is an infotainment system with an optional 8.4-inch screen. There are plenty of USB ports to use, and you can integrate your smartphone. The Sahara trim level gets a bit luxurious with automatic climate control, keyless entry, and an updated driver information display.  At the higher levels of trim, there are things like blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, forward collision mitigation, parking assist, and many other safety features. The Rubicon has all the offload equipment, and all the other features as well. There are several bundles that allow you to get Rubicon features added to other trim levels.  We have several Wranglers in stock, and that changes often. Even if we do not have the specific one you want, there are so many options available it will be easy to custom-order any configuration you would like.
